Another walk in the park? Do you remember how hard our work at
Marvin Gaye Park was last time? We were digging holes through asphalt for a guardrail around the stage. Here's
a pictorial reminder and some
reflections on the
ayat [signs] in the hardscape.
Well imagine what it felt like to hear that we'd be digging holes again this time!... but as we made our way through the park to the digging site, we saw this:

The guardrail, all done! Beautiful, isn't it? That left us really happy and gratified... enough to start digging again:

It was still hard work, but a little easier than last time:

...and there was teamwork and fun!

After the work, we all ate lunch a the
Riverside Center:
...and
Steve & Brian from
Washington Parks & People talked to us about the organization, the neighborhood and their shared vision for the park:
We'll be out at Marvin Gaye Park again soon (October, insha'Allah). See you then!
